About Me
Snowy Road

I'm a PhD student in the Computer Science Department at the University of Arizona. My research interests are in computer vision and machine learning, and my adviser is Kobus Barnard. In 2003 I received a B.S. from the Computer Science Department at North Dakota State University, where I was a McNair Scholar and graduated with honors.

I'm from the agriculturally rich Red River valley of North Dakota and Minnesota. In my free time I enjoy reading and being outdoors. One of my favorite authors is the Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoevsky. When I'm not reading I like to go Hiking, fishing and cross-country skiing. Recently, I have also started cycling. There's not much skiing to be done in Tucson, but the hikes in the Catalinas and Rincons are excellent.
